30th November marked the official launch of the “FUN” Healthy Chinese Cuisine Ambassadors project initiated by Mingai (London) Institute, in collaboration with and supported by strong support of Lee Kum Kee. The event, hosted by Lord Nat Wei of Shoreditch, was held at the River Room, House of Lords and guests included School Headmasters, distinguished members of the UK Chinese community and the media.

The project is aiming to promote the healthy Chinese culinary culture among UK secondary school students and teachers. It is in response to the new GCSE – Food Preparation & Nutrition which will be taught in all UK schools, with emphasis on understanding and enjoying both British and international cuisines. Lee Kum Kee team has offered active involvement and assistance in designing and building the contents ever since the beginning of the project in London area, and this kick-off event officiate the roll out to national UK so as to benefit more schools in the country.

“Fun” project roll out will commence from the 2015-16 Academic Year and will be a 5-year project. The objective is to reach out to 280 schools across the UK and conduct approximately 40 Teachers Training Workshops. These teachers and students can therefore become the ambassadors of Chinese culinary culture in the UK. Meanwhile, the application of Chinese sauces and the amazing Chinese culture the brand represents will also be communicated through the project.
